Keith G. Myers is an American entrepreneur, board director, investor, and nationally recognized leader in healthcare services. He is the Co-Founder and Chairman & CEO Emeritus of LHC Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LHCG), one of the nation’s largest providers of home health, hospice, and community-based healthcare services. Over nearly three decades, Myers led LHC Group from a single rural home health agency in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, into a publicly traded healthcare company with approximately 29,000 employees, more than 900 locations across 38 states and the District of Columbia, culminating in its 2023 merger with Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, in a transaction valued at approximately $5.4 billion.  

Today, Myers serves as a Private Investor and Strategic Advisor, partnering with founders, private equity firms, boards of directors, and executive leadership teams to help build enduring organizations through strategic growth, value-based care, operational excellence, leadership development, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and succession planning.  

Early Life

Raised on his family’s farm near Palmetto, Louisiana, Myers credits his upbringing with shaping the work ethic and values that have guided his life and career. His father, a World War II veteran, instilled in him a simple but enduring philosophy of leadership: “Open the gate in the morning. Close the gate in the afternoon.” That lesson emphasized personal responsibility, leading by example, discipline, and stewardship—principles that became foundational to Myers’ leadership philosophy.  

Building LHC Group

In 1994, Keith and his wife, Ginger Myers, a registered nurse often affectionately known as LHC Group’s “First Nurse,” co-founded LHC Group after community leaders identified a critical need for home healthcare services in rural Louisiana.

Under Myers’ leadership, LHC Group became one of America’s premier home and community-based healthcare organizations. The company developed a reputation for:

  • Co-founded the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare and previously served as its chairman.

  • Co-founded the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation, helping advance value-based home healthcare nationwide.  

Myers is also the named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 7,844,473, covering a system for allocating home health services that supported LHC Group’s operational and value-based care model.  

University of Louisiana System

Keith Myers currently serves on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, the governing board responsible for overseeing Louisiana’s nine public universities. Appointed by Governor Jeff Landry and confirmed by the Louisiana Senate, Myers helps provide strategic oversight for one of the state’s largest higher education systems, supporting policies that expand educational opportunity, strengthen workforce development, encourage research and innovation, and improve student success across Louisiana.  

Drawing upon decades of experience leading a publicly traded healthcare company, Myers brings expertise in governance, strategic planning, organizational culture, financial stewardship, and executive leadership to the Board’s work.

Personal Life

Keith and Ginger Myers reside in South Louisiana and are the parents of five adult children and grandparents to a growing family. They remain deeply committed to faith, family, servant leadership, and developing future leaders.

Outside of business, Myers enjoys thoroughbred horse breeding and rehabilitation, cattle ranching, conservation, music, outdoor recreation, and mentoring entrepreneurs and executives.
