Keith G. Myers
Private Investor & Strategic Advisor

Keith G. Myers is a nationally recognized healthcare entrepreneur, board leader, and strategic advisor.

He cofounded LHC Group, Inc. with his wife, Ginger (“First Nurse”), and scaled it from a single small home-health agency in rural Louisiana into one of the nation’s preeminent home and community-based healthcare providers in America. Under Myers’ three-decade leadership as Chairman & CEO, LHC Group grew into a mid-cap public company (NASDAQ: LHCG) and, in 2023, merged with Optum, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, in a transaction valued at approximately $5.4 billion.

Rooted in humble beginnings on a family farm in South Louisiana, Myers’ leadership philosophy reflects the discipline and clarity he learned from his father - a World War II veteran – the importance of a leader being a role model to other team members, with the first step being “opening the gate in the morning, closing the gate in the afternoon.” He operationalized those values into a durable operating system built around six pillars—People, Service, Quality, Efficiency, Growth, and Ethics combined with a people centered culture and authentic openness and transparency.

A builder and innovator, Myers is a named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 7,844,473, titled System for Allocating Home Health Services, granted November 30, 2010. The patented framework underpinned aspects of LHC Group’s Service Value Points (SVP™) approach to clinical resource allocation and value-based operating discipline.

Over the years, Myers’ contributions have been recognized with two significant hall-of-fame honors:

  • He was inducted into the National Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame in November 2003 following his recognition as Regional Entrepreneur of the Year in healthcare services that June.

  • Later, in 2015, he was inducted into the National Home Care & Hospice Hall of Fame, acknowledging his leadership in the home- and hospice-care sector.

Today, Myers serves as a Private Investor & Strategic Advisor, selectively partnering with founder-led companies, boards, and institutional investors across healthcare services and adjacent industries. His advisory work emphasizes:

  • Developing and scaling durable growth models

  • Leading founder transitions

  • Developing and scaling value-based care models

  • M&A integration

  • Leveraging network

As a speaker, keynote addresses and executive roundtables on legacy leadership, culture as a performance system, and building organizations that scale without losing their soul.

Civically, Myers serves on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors and actively supports philanthropic initiatives through the Keith & Ginger Myers Family Foundation.

His forthcoming book, The Story of LHC Group — Anyone Can, Everyone Should, chronicles lessons from three decades of category-defininggrowth; all proceeds going to Myers Family Foundation – 501(c)(3) to support charitable organizations and causes that help people in need.
